Megaliths: the mystery of the stone giants

Megaliths: the mystery of the stone giants

In Southeast Asia, North Africa, Spain, the coasts of France and England and in many other places towering strange construction of the huge boulders. Scientists call them megaliths. It’s a giant, roughly-worked blocks of stone weighing several hundred tons. The megaliths or standing separately from each other, and then they are called menhirs, or form complex structures – dolmens and cromlechs. Giant blocks are not fastened by any cementing substance, but they are so carefully fitted that they cannot put even the blade of a penknife. On the mystery of megaliths scientists struggle for a very long time, but the basic questions still remain unanswered.

Undeciphered inscriptions

It is noticed that the megaliths tend to be sea coasts, and the farther from the sea, the smaller buildings. The most famous megalithic monuments located near the French town of Carnac on the southern Brittany coast. The main attraction of Karnak is a huge megalith, bearing the name of St. Michael. According to researchers, this structure initially served as a burial vault. Later, the megalith was covered with earth, and the top formed on its hilltop location in the Middle ages the chapel was erected.

And to the North of the town of field is located at 2935 huge menhirs height up to 5 meters. The stones standing vertically, and some of them scientists have discovered embossed labels who were never able to decipher.

In General, the area of Carnac and further North from the town is very rich in megalithic constructions. This Manet-Kerioned long covered gallery, and the dolmen de Rodosek, and a huge menhir Old mill, weighing more than 200 Tons, and then the whole field of menhirs and a circle of stone circles, the largest of which is the cromlech of Menec – consists of 70 menhirs and has nearly 100 meters in diameter.

On the territory of the former USSR megaliths are found in the Crimea and the Caucasus.

In the ancient sources are not mentioned.

It is believed that the most ancient megaliths erected in the late stone age. However, science-based methodology to determine the age of these gigantic structures don’t have. According to archaeologists, the megaliths, near which found Parking ancient people, built by our ancestors, who lived in the stone age. Age Parking is determined by the found jewelry, weapons and bones. But it is obvious that these factors may not be related!

According to scientists, the oldest dolmen was built around 6000 years ago in Ireland, and the youngest – about 3000 years ago in Italy. However, despite the fact that there are already numerous works on the Greek language, and India gave the world the Vedas, still not found any written sources, reveal the mysteries of the megaliths. Who and why built it? And how could people in those days to move huge blocks of stone and stack them on each other with such precision?

Stone book

In Karnak Museum of prehistoric culture have diagrams and figures showing how presumably had built the megaliths. The same images we saw in the textbooks of ancient history: hundreds of half-naked men using ropes and levers move on the ice boulders, then with the help of ropes and blocks set them vertically. With no other reliable versions, will agree.

But why were erected as monumental buildings? The views of researchers on the subject were divided. Some believe that the megaliths were constructed for performance of religious rites and burial of the dead. But not in the same cromlech or dolmen we found no burials.

Other scientists, primarily astronomers, have proven that some of the megaliths were used for astronomical observations of the Sun, moon and other planets. Menhirs were allowed to record the point of sunset and sunrise and moon at the equinoxes and solstices. But it is unclear why the stone age people could be so necessary astronomical observations that they built such large buildings?

In addition, some scientists, in particular, ufologists, a hypothesis was advanced that the megaliths – the ancient stone book, in which encrypted scientific knowledge about Earth, the Solar system and the Universe. These books left by the representatives of the intelligent forces of the cosmos for earthlings. Hypothesis, of course, beautiful, but she is by evidence not supported.

Crazy hypothesis?

Finally, in 1992, the Ukrainian geologist S. R. furduy jointly with the physicist J. M. Shvaydak put forward the unusual hypothesis that some of the megaliths are the generators of acoustic and electronic vibrations. They noticed that the stone pillars from top to bottom become narrower, although it would be logical to set the stone on a broad basis. Most of the megaliths are built of stone, containing large amounts of quartz. It is known that quartz is able to generate electric current and to maintain the constancy of its vibrations, and may also generate ultrasound under the action of electric current.

The conclusions of the Kiev scholars based on striking the opening of the English researchers. It turns out that scientists at Oxford University after several experiments found that before sunrise complex Roll-Wright produces ultrasonic vibrations which are subsequently damped, and these fluctuations have the greatest intensity and duration during equinoxes and minimum during the solstices. And some stones Roll Wright have different loops of sound and space constraints. British scientists came to the conclusion that the megaliths To it’s old transmitters that emit ultrasound in the form of a directional beam. It is clear that the people who lived in the stone age, hardly had the necessary knowledge. So who built the megaliths?

Dwarves are the builders came out of the water

This question leads us away from dry science to the realm of legends. The Polynesians believe that the megaliths were built or red-bearded gods who came from across the ocean, or dwarfs-menehune, who arrived on a flying three-tiered island Kuahelani. The aborigines of Australia is credited with the construction of the megaliths voneinem, emerged from the depths of the sea creatures without mouths, but with halos around their heads. There is also the legend of the dwarfs who inhabited Australia before the arrival of the first men. The Ossetians there are legends about the dwarves of bicente living in the sea and is able at a glance to tumble down a huge tree. Irish legends tell that at night at certain times of the year reveals the hills, radiating an unearthly light, inviting random travelers to the country of the dwarfs-seeds, pushed to the ground after appearing in these places first people. The menhirs attributed to the ability to make the connection between seeds and people. The African tribes also have legends about dwarfs, the Fox and Jarugu children of the Earth. The little people and belongs to the glory of the builders of the megaliths.

The Mayan Indians there was a legend that for the construction of the pyramid of the Sun Mayan priests turned to the sorceress, at their request, caused the sea from the ugly dwarf. This dwarf has built a 46-meter pyramid in one night.

As you can see, most of the legends that the people living in different parts of the planet, devoted to megalithic sites converge on dwarfs who possessed supernatural powers. But this conclusion is not in the least bring us closer to solving the mystery of the megaliths.
