Megaliths: the mystery of the stone giants
In Southeast Asia, North Africa, Spain, the coasts of France and England and in many other places towering strange construction of the huge boulders. Scientists call them megaliths. It’s a giant, roughly-worked blocks of stone weighing several hundred tons. The megaliths or standing separately from each other, and then they are called menhirs, or form complex structures – dolmens and cromlechs. Giant blocks are not fastened by any cementing substance, but they are so carefully fitted that they cannot put even the blade of a penknife. On the mystery of megaliths scientists struggle for a very long time, but the basic questions still remain unanswered.
It is noticed that the megaliths tend to be sea coasts, and the farther from the sea, the smaller buildings. The most famous megalithic monuments located near the French town of Carnac on the southern Brittany coast. The main attraction of Karnak is a huge megalith, bearing the name of St. Michael. According to researchers, this structure initially served as a burial vault. The Gothic quarter
This medieval quarter, with the most outstanding urban monuments, also called “Cathedral” (Barry de La seu), it has a more funny name “rovell de l OU” (egg yolk).
The quarter, located between the Cathedral and the town Hall, and partially surrounded by the bastions of the Roman walls, is probably the most attractive part of the city. In the beginning of XX century it was called “Gothic” . although the Gothic buildings have survived in other parts of the city. However, this is where the architectural ensemble of buildings stood in perfect harmony and deserved the most attention in this quarter was conducted a number of serious restoration work.

1. Taos hum
Some residents and visitors of the small town of Taos (new Mexico) for many years been annoyed and concerned about a mysterious and faint low sound of unknown origin.
It is strange that only two percent of the residents can hear that sound.
